A trip down the road from Athirapally to Vazhachal falls would easily be missed while going by this sublime charmer. The Charpa falls is located at a distance of approximately 60 km from Thrissur. Although it is not the most popular waterfall in this locality, it is a prominent pitstop for tourists visiting the Athirapally and Vazhachal falls. The waterfall cascades from a height of 70 feet, with the Chalakudy river being its sole source.
As the river dries up during the summer, the falls become barren and so, monsoon is the best time to visit them. A narrow bridge across the falls is where you could get the closest to the water. This place indeed projects a picturesque foliage, making it an excellent spot for photography. Apart from that, hawkers and small shacks are open in the vicinity so that the tourists can stop by to enjoy quick bites and drinks.
